Background and Format:
Wired.co.uk launched in March 2009 to bring the reader the stories, people and ideas that are changing our day-to-day world. Their teams of Editors in London and around the globe aim to bring the reader the most important, interesting and inspiring news and features, 24/7. They also aim to publish the entire contents of Wired magazine online, so by the time a new issue is available on news stands, the reader can search and read the complete collection of articles from the previous issue on their website.

WIRED is launching WIRED Video while the website itself has been reimagined, developed from a mobile first strategy through to desktop, resulting in a seamless user experience across all devices. The redesigned site is now live, while the video channel, sponsored by Microsoft, has launched with a teaser for Future Cities with the first episode being released on 7 June. WIRED Video launches as a dedicated channel together with a rebranded YouTube presence and availability on other sharable channels. It will be a home for WIRED originated short films, series and documentaries, archive videos, partner collaborations as well as content from WIRED US.The reimagining of the Wired.co.uk site coincides with the arrival of Victoria Woollaston as Editor. The new pages, which reach just under two million unique users a month, are fully responsive and reformat themselves for desktop, tablet and mobile. Additionally, new layouts allow for highly customised long-form articles. A responsive homepage is due to launch later this year.
