Background and Format: The Irish News is circulated across Northern Ireland. It covers both news and sport extensively, claiming particularly to be its region's number one source of sports coverage, whether local, national or international. The Irish News relaunched as a tabloid in early 2005. In August 2015 the website moved behind a paywall.
