Spectrum News Austin is a 24-hour regional cable news network serving Austin, TX, and the surrounding Central Texas area. Launched September 13, 1999, it is the fifth local news channel operated by Time Warner's regional cable companies. The network delivers community-oriented journalism on an around-the-clock basis, providing complete local coverage of news, weather, traffic, and sports as well as extended coverage of local breaking news events as they happen around Dallas/Fort-Worth, San Antonio, El Paso, Corpus Christi, Houston, Victoria, Wichita Falls, Del Rio, and Rio Grande.
