Background and Format:
Positive News is a magazine which began life as a quarterly international newspaper in 1993 reporting on the people, events and influences that are helping to create a more positive future for the world and its people. Positive News reports on issues rarely covered by the mainstream media and promotes the many enterprises that are working for a sustainable future. Sections in the paper include: Society, Economics, Science, Environment, Lifestyle and Perspective. It was relaunched in February 2016, following a £263,000 crowdfunding campaign, with the newspaper now co-owned by 1,526 readers, journalists and contributors as a result. There are four issues per year, the Spring issue: February/March, Summer issue: May/June,mAutumn issue: August/September and the Winter issue: November/December.
The paper is published quarterly and is available free to the public. It is distributed across a UK-wide network of over 250 distributors, including health food shops, cafes, educational centres and events. Copies are also sent directly to subscribers at a cost. The newspaper is aimed at people who want to read more up-lifting, good news.
