KPYX-TV is an independent station in the San Francisco market. The station broadcasts locally on channel 44. The station first aired on January 2, 1968. During that time the station was owned by Kaiser Industries. The station was acquired by United Television/Chris-Craft Station Group in 1983 and became an affiliate of the United Paramount Network (UPN). The station later became a CW affiliate and remained so until 2023 when it became of brand extension of sister station KPIX-TV, airing a combination of CBS Television Network and local programming. KPYX-TV is more popularly known as "KPIX+." The station previously held the call letter KBHK and KBCW.
