KLRN-TV is the PBS affiliate for the San Antonio market. The station is owned by Alamo Public Telecommunications Council. KLRN-TV broadcasts locally on channel 9 and DTV 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 and 9.4. The station covers a 30 county region in southern and central Texas. There are no commercials. According to the station's Web site, the station's mission is "to use the power of telecommunications to provide quality programs and services which advance education, culture, and community, to enrich the lives of people throughout South Central Texas." The station was founded in 1962.
