KLCS-TV is a PBS affiliate serving the greater Los Angeles area. Debuting in 1972, KLCS-TV is a public station licensed to the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). It is a branch of the Division of Support Services of the LAUSD, which is in charge of producing and broadcasting Instructional Television (ITV) programs coupled with broadcasting an ensemble of PBS programming. Programming includes themes of culture, education, entertainment, and sports. The station carries 24 hours of programming, Monday through Friday. KLCS-TV's tag line is "The Education Station." The station's target audience is viewers in the Los Angeles, CA-area interested in educational, cultural, and public affairs programming. The station accepts pre-produced series accompanied by a press release. Send pre-produced information by mail to the station. Information should be related to the Los Angeles District. Station will accept public service announcements, however, keep in mind they are owned by the Los Angeles Unified School District and are limited to what they can air.
