Welcome to GadgetRadar.co.uk, my name’s Kulwinder Singh Rai. Kulwinder Singh Rai I’ve been a journalist, editor and public relations consultant for more than 35 years, specialising in technology, home entertainment, gardening, outdoor cooking, home appliances, and things with wheels. Over the decades, I’ve tested, benchmarked, helped develop and written about countless products, scribbling about them for national newspapers, magazines and online media, as well as for umpteen manufacturers, distributors and retailers. Anyway, while it’s been lots of fun, I haven’t always been able find an outlet for absolutely everything I’ve got to – or wanted to – have a look at. Which explains how the idea for this site came into being. GadgetRadar.co.uk is my own, curated ‘safe space’, an outlet where I get to review gear that I’m interested in, and say exactly what I think, unfiltered and direct. No agenda, no bias, no relentless hunt for clicks and traffic. And just to be perfectly clear, I personally test ALL the products that I publish reviews of, assessing them under real world conditions. For reasons that simultaneously elude and delight me, I also get to go to a lot of press launches, so you’ll get to see timely news articles and early looks at new kit and gear that I’m interested in. The categories in the menu bar make it pretty clear what I’ll be writing about; mostly you’ll see news and reviews on this site. If you’re looking for how to’s and explainers, there are plenty of other great tech sites that will provide those for you – I’m not planning to compete with them. To kick off things I’ve loaded a small selection of the reviews I’ve written relatively recently. If any of the content looks familiar, it’s because my reviews are often nicked, rewritten and presented as original work by others, but hey, that’s modern online journalism for you.
