York on a Fork is a York based blog, aimed at a UK audience. The blog was launched in 2014 by Ben Thorpe.
Ben writes most of the content, but has occasionally had help from a number of contributors, all of which you can find here. The blog began as a personal space for Ben, but after some help it eventually developed into a hub for the people of York and those who wish to visit. Ben says "After ten years in financial services I started York on a Fork in 2014 after being encouraged by many friends and colleagues to share my knowledge of the local food scene. Since then I’ve experimented with printed editions, collaborations with other bloggers and running events and had a great time on the way. York has a great food scene that deserves this voice." The blog aims to bring you the best places to eat and visit in York, with reviews and event listings. Ben adds "As a British Computer Society qualified Business Analyst I try to bring a professional approach to the site and represent subjects as accurately as possible while accentuating the positives and offering constructive feedback as required."
Topics covered on the blog consist of Home, Restaurant reviews, event reviews, recipes, ingredients, products, travel and lifestyle. Recent entries on the blog include: York's other Minster, Making Friends with Ham, More Brunch-time antics!, Best beer gardens in York, Brunch time! And Carluccio's Opening.
