Bio

Background & Format: Launched in January 2009, Words & Fixtures is a personal blog about "the arts." Words & Fixtures was named Best New Blog in 2009 for the Manchester Blog Awards. The blog provides a mixture of art content with Sarah-Clare blogging about what interests her. Many posts are her work at the Writer in Resident programme at Victoria Baths in Manchester which are written in a first person style and may include photographs. Others consist of plays she does, creative writing workshops, collaboration, pieces she's written and photographic exhibitions. She also writes about fiction festivals. The Blogger: Words & Fixtures is written by Sarah-Clare Conlon who started the blog while working as a freelance writer, editor and press officer, and Literature Editor for Creative Tourist. " I am a Salt Prize winner and was described in Flash Magazine as "one of the most interesting and inspiring authors writing flashes today". Here I tend to ramble on about the arts. My professional site is at wordsandfixtures.wordpress.com." PR Opportunities: PR opportunities are available in the form of copywriting, editing, print production and marketing via Sarah-Clare's other website, wordsandfixtures.wordpress.com/. Sarah-Clare says: " I have written and edited for regional, national and international newspapers, magazines and websites; copyedited and proofread for best-selling authors and university presses; headed up print production for a UK-wide through-the-line marketing agency and project managed for large public sector and academic bodies; devised press and PR strategies for leading cultural organisations and independent businesses."
