About
Bio
Produced in association with The New York Times, New York Close-Up is hosted by the Times's urban affairs correspondent Sam Roberts. The program features an hour of in-depth interviews, video segments and discussions with reporters from various sections of the paper. While the main focus of the show is previewing the Sunday Times, the journalists also look back at the New York City-centric stories that appeared throughout the week.
PR professionals are advised to send press releases to the New York 1 assignment desk or to the program's producer. All information sent should related to a major New York news story and be of interest to New York viewers. It is best to fax press releases to the assignment desk between 7am and 3pm ET. Keep all pitches brief, but specific and include appropriate contact information. Pitches are generally not taken over the phone, but a heads-up phone call is acceptable. New York Close-Up is watched predominantly by adults interested in daily New York news.
