Background & Format:Launched on 1 September 2014, Sky News Tonight provides a round-up of the day's major stories. The show used to be hosted by Adam Boulton and Dharshini David, but staring from October 2016 it's host is Dermot Murnaghan.The show includes rigorous interviews and showcase Sky’s specialist reporting team including exclusive reports and in depth analysis.The programme aims to showcase the best of Sky News’ journalism, featuring interviews with major guests, studio debate, analysis and a pioneering social media cross-over.The show is also a home for Sky News’ specialist journalism team including Political Editor Faisal Islam, Economics Editor Ed Conway and Social Affairs Editor Afua Hirsch, who provides forensic analysis of the day’s major national and international news using new technology, data journalism and cutting-edge digital media tools. Sky News Tonight features exclusive stories, breaking news and includes the team's expert insight into the latest news taking place on their beat.Social media users are also able to view - and engage with - a host of extra content that follows, complements and enhances the live TV output, in real time.
