Seven Miles of Steel Thistles

About

Bio

Launched in November 2009, Seven Miles of Steel Thistles is a blog that follows the life of Katherine, the author of several fantasy novels for children and young adults: 'Troll Fell', 'Troll Mill' and 'Troll Blood', set in the Viking age, and 'Dark Angels' which is set on the Welsh border in the 12th century. The blog posts are written by Katherine Langrish, a British Young Adult and children's fantasy author who loves folktales, myth and legends. Katherine named the blog 'Seven Miles of Steel Thistles' due to a phrase in a Western Irish fairytale called 'The King Who had Twelve Sons', where the hero has to ride 'over seven miles of hill on fire, and seven miles of steel thistles, and seven miles of sea'. It seemed to Katherine to be a good metaphor for the trials of writing books. Entries in the Seven Miles of Steel Thistles blog concentrate on categories such as Poems, Book Trailers and All the Fairytale Reflections. It is through the blog that Katherine indulges in her love of fairytales, folklore, fantasy, myths, legends, and children's literature. PR opportunities include news, reviews and interviews related to arts, especially literature and fantasy. Katherine can be reached via her social media platforms where she is active.
