About
Bio
Scottish Mum is a personal parenting, food, health and fitness blog from an Aberdeen-based mother.
A mum to three boys, Blogger Lesley Smith is also a Social Media Consultant and Author. Her consultancy Madly Social helps small- to medium-sized businesses research and explore social media and see how it can benefit them. As an independent Author she writes on a ghost basis for other blogs and content creators on topics such as adoption, special needs, autism, parenting and blogging. Lesley is a parent to autistic and adopted children herself and is an advocate for special needs care and disability rights. She is also a winner of National Novel Writing Month, having written a 50,000-word novel in one month. She enjoys poetry and often posts her own poems on her blog.
Blog entries on Scottish Mum cover much more than parenting and include Lesley's commentary on news on adoption, disability policy and education, recipes, thoughts on gardening, crafts, health and fitness, her poems, product reviews, competitions and other random musings. Lesley regularly features relevant guest posts, allowing readers to submit them on her blog for review. Posts are always accompanied by at least one image.
A self-described 'PR friendly' blog, Lesley says: " but she only posts fellow bloggers and charity posts for free." She asks "Please don’t ask for guest posts if you intend to try slipping a link into any business or enterprise that is for profit making. I will also need to know the company involved before I agree to post."
