The Pink Wedding Days blog runs alongside the Pink Wedding Days' directory. Whilst the latter is concerned with advertising wedding venues and service providers, the blog covers what's happening in the world of same-sex weddings and civil partnerships. This includes the latest news stories both in the UK and abroad, information about the practicalities of wedding planning, budgeting tips, product reviews and recommendations, seasonal features and anything (and everything) else to do with weddings and civil partnerships. Pink Wedding Days also keeps a close eye on what's happening with gay marriage around the world: they love telling their readers about new freedoms opening up abroad. Primarily, they’re a same-sex wedding site but they don't seek to separate gay couples from straight ones. Much of what they write about is easily applicable to opposite-sex couples, too.
Susan James is the blogger for Pink Wedding Days. Surprisingly, she isn't the kind of girl who has ever really dreamt of being married, but she loves the excitement and creativity of the wedding industry. "Working on Pink Wedding Days is also a great way to contribute something positive to the same-sex community, too." She works for Pink Wedding Days part time, but, as an aspiring author she fills her free time with her creative writing. Susan has a personal travel blog which she updates regularly. She considers travelling to be her foremost passion and has been fortunate enough to visit some brilliantly strange places over the years including North Korea.
The Pink Wedding Days’ blog isn’t split into sections, but it’s easy to search through. They cover all aspects of wedding planning, budgeting, venue searching, product reviews and recommendations. They cover both international and national news stories and provide articles on advice and wedding hacks for the soon-to-be newlyweds in their audience.
PR opportunities available are product reviews and features relevant to a same-sex audience (although the product doesn't need to be specifically aimed at the same-sex market). The best way to get in touch is via email. As their blogger only works part-time, there may be a day or two between enquiry and reply.
