Open Rights Group blog is about the eponymous organisation. Open Rights Group is organisation that aims to develop a society built on laws, free from disproportionate, unaccountable surveillance and censorship. They want a society in which information flows more freely. They want a state that is transparent and accountable, where the public's rights are acknowledged and upheld. Founded in 2005 by 1,000 digital activists, Open Rights Group is a non-profit organisation. We have grown with the help of funding from charitable trusts concerned about citizens' rights. However most of the financial support comes from ordinary people, contributing small regular amounts.
The blog posts are written by the Open Rights Group team. The team are lead by Jim Lllock (Executive Director), Neil Gaiman (Patron) and James Cronin (Chairman).
