Background and Format:
Leader is the official magazine of the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL). It provides industry news and information to members of the ASCL, a professional association and trade union acting on behalf of secondary education professionals. It addresses the changes in school status to community, foundation and voluntary categories, with a focus on budget concerns, career development, curriculum and teaching advice. Editorial content also includes opinion columns, letters and feature articles.
Audience and Readership:
Readers of Leader magazine are headteachers, executive heads, CEOs, deputy and assistant heads, senior teachers and their equivalents (principals, vice principals) in sixth form and further education colleges, mostly aged 30-60. Members are located throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. All members of the Principals’ Professional Council (PPC), Girls’ School Association (GSA) and Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC) are members of ASCL.
