Background and Format: Launched in 1999, Legal Week (formerly a publication, now a website) is a website overseen by ALM and is aimed at executive officers, business lawyers, corporate counsels and librarians. Covers breaking news, trend analysis, profiles and research data for the UK and international commercial legal markets. It also has sister publications and websites Law.com, The American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel. The outlet offers RSS (Really Simple Syndication). The National Law Journal DOES accept bylined articles/submissions. Send idea pitches to Leigh Jones, Senior Editor. Submissions must be 900 words written in a conversational style, opinion high, and the topic must be related to a current legal news event. The editorial assistant or intern is usually the best point of contact for notices of recent hires or promotions as well as the calendar. The deadline is noon on the Wednesday before publication. Media Alert: Wednesday March 18th, 2009 Incisive Media has merged The National Law Journal and Legal Times. The new publication, which covers national legal news and which includes a print and online format, will maintain the title The National Law Journal. It will also continue to include insider and front page news coverage of Washington D.C. The first print edition will launch in May.
