KOCE-TV is the PBS affiliate for the Los Angeles market. The station is owned by the PBS Socal. KOCE-TV broadcasts locally on channel 50. KOCE-TV's mission is to serve as a pre-eminent provider of education, information, and culture. The station has been known to reach three million viewers weekly in Orange County and throughout Southern California. The station provides local and national television productions, telecourses, and educational television services for classrooms. In addition to the television programs KOCE-TV broadcasts through its affiliation with PBS, the station broadcasts programs and series seen locally only on KOCE-TV. Working with Coastline Community College, KOCE-TV annually broadcasts more than 1,500 hours of telecourse programs. KOCE-TV's classroom instruction reaches more than 1 million elementary and secondary students in Orange County and Southern California. KOCE-TV does not offer advertising opportunities, but does accept underwriting. The station does not accept any national news press releases, only news occurring in or about Orange County are acceptable.
