Kavey Eats is a London-based individual food and travel blog launched in April 2009 that provides recipes, restaurant and product reviews, food-focused travel and other food-related features.
Blogger Kavita (Kavey) Favelle was born in London to Indian immigrant parents. Growing up, her mother cooked Indian food a couple times a week and British and global dishes the rest of the time. Her family traveled around the world on their holidays and brought back exotic recipes and influences. Kavey describes her passions as people, travelling, photography and food. She and her husband met at university and both enjoy food, travel, photography and blogging. By day Kavey works as a freelance Business Analyst.
Kavey posts a wide range of content on her blog which is divided into the following categories: Eat In (recipes and cookery book reviews); Eat Out (restaurant reviews); Drink (bar and pub reviews and drink-related posts); Learn (classes, books and demonstrations); Travel (travelogues, guides and photo-essays); Events (food festivals, brand events); Meet (interviews); Grow (gardening); See (video and photography); Win (competitions); Buy (product reviews); and Mamta's Kitchen (Kavey's experiences cooking recipes from her mother's website). During warmer months, Kavey also runs a "bloggers scream for ice cream" event which encourages bloggers and readers to develop ice cream recipes based on the month's theme). As an avid photographer Kavey's posts include numerous high-quality photos. Kavey Eats began as a personal blog on Blogspot with an archive going back to 2006.
PR opportunities are available for (paid) recipe development commissions featuring a specific ingredient or product; restaurant, product and appliance reviews; reader giveaways; interviews with industry experts; relevant food and travel-focused press trips. She adds that can also be commissioned "to create content to feature on brands' websites". Kavey says: "If you would like me to review products or services please get in touch to discuss. I also run giveaways for products I’ve personally reviewed and am happy to recommend to my readers. Free sample products and services are always clearly disclosed and I express my honest opinions." She also tells us: "With smaller items and offerings that don't merit a feature blog post, I may offer social media coverage instead." Please note that Kavey Eats does not host "commercial guest posts or paid follow-links". Kavey can be reached via email at kavey@kaveyeats.com
