Golf Channel is a 24-hour cable television network available throughout the United States, Canada and Asia via cable, satellite and wireless television providers. The network, launched in January 1995, was founded by media entrepreneur Joseph E. Gibbs of Birmingham, AL, and golf legend Arnold Palmer. The programming schedule includes more live golf tournament coverage than all other networks combined. The network features original programming and an extensive blend of live tour action from the PGA, Senior PGA, LPGA, NIKE, USGA, PGA of America, European Tour, PGA Tour Australia and Buy.com, with instruction from world-renowned teaching professionals. The Golf Channel can be seen in over 80 million households worldwide. The Golf Channel is 92 percent owned by Comcast Cable.
