BBC Radio 4 is a British national radio station for spoken-word programming, including current affairs, documentaries, drama, science, and comedy. It broadcasts throughout the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands on FM, LW and DAB, and on BBC Sounds. Radio 4 skews towards an older audience.

The BBC World Service is the international broadcasting arm of the BBC. It is available around the world on analogue and digital shortwave platforms, internet streaming, podcasting, satellite, DAB, FM and MW relays. The broadcaster is available in more than 40 languages in addition to English. Lowell was its first editor. The editor-in-chief as of November 2009 is James Bennet.
