Background and Format: Launched in 1992 CAD User is a magazine and website aimed at people involved in Computer Aided Design. There are two variations of the magazine the AEC and Mechanical versions. CAD User Magazine provides readers expert informationon the following key areas: -Features to help readers get the most out of CAD systems -Case studies of users -Market analysis -Industry overview articles -In-depth comment on the latest CAD hardware, software and peripherals -The latest industry news, views and product reviews CAD User AEC is focused exclusively on the market for Architectural, Civil Engineering, Construction design and build solutions. CAD User MCAD is concentrated entirely on the market for and implementation of mechanical design products. Key areas such as analysis, solid modelling, document management, visualisation and rapid prototyping are covered regularly alongside reviews, and case studies. Founded by John Thornhill, the FT’s Innovation Editor, the editorial team will be led by FT’s former Madrid Bureau Chief and Paris Correspondent Michael Stothard, who returns to London. Its new London reporting team includes Amy Lewin, who joins from Courier magazine; former HFM Technology Reporter Carly Minsky; and the FT’s Tech Reporter Maija Palmer.
