The British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) is co-owned by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM) and BMJ Group. It is the official journal of the European College of Sports and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP) and an official journal of the Australasian College of Sports Physicians.
Aims of the journal:
Launched in 1966, BJSM is an online and print journal which provides original research, reviews and debate relating to clinically-relevant aspects of sport and exercise. A wide range of topics are covered including the prevention and management of sports injury, exercise physiology, sports psychology, physiotherapy and the epidemiology of exercise and health. BJSM aims to highlight clinically-relevant original research, editorials and commentary that will be of interest to the field of sport and exercise medicine. BJSM Injury Prevention and Health Protection (IPHP) are regular themed issues of the journal publishing research and educational articles relevant to protecting the health of professional and amateur athletes. These issues are supported by the International Olympic Committee.
Readership:
The journal is aimed at physicians, physiotherapists, exercise scientists and those involved in public policy.
