Bio

Background: Launched in July 1984, BBC Radio York is a regional radio service for the county of North Yorkshire. It broadcasts local and national news, sport, weather and travel as well as talk shows and music. The studio is in Bootham, York, and programmes can be heard on 103.7FM (Vale of York), 95.5FM (Scarborough & Filey), 104.3FM (Harrogate & the Dales), 666 and 1260MW countywide & DAB Digital Radio. The majority of the station's programming is produced and broadcast from York. During off-peak hours, BBC Radio York also carries regional programming for Yorkshire and the North Midlands from sister station BBC Radio Leeds, which also originates the networked evening shows for BBC Local Radio on weekday evenings (produced independently by Wire Free Productions). During the station's downtime, BBC Radio York simulcasts BBC Radio 5 Live overnight. Schedule Times: The schedule can be viewed here Target audience: Listeners age 35+. It has an approximate 50/50 split of male/female listeners during breakfast and drive time and but in the daytime this changes to 40% male and 60% female. Advertising Rates: The BBC are unable to advertise on their UK outlets. Tips for PRs: The BBC cannot accept traditional product press releases because the BBC cannot endorse products.
