WBKO-TV is the local ABC affiliate in Bowling Green, Kentucky, serving south central Kentucky. In 1976, WBKO-TV was sold to a group of local investors and in 1983, it was again sold to A. Richard Benedek, who, today, is the sole owner of one of the country's largest group of individual television stations. Operating as Benedek Broadcasting Corporation, the company owns 22 small and medium market stations scattered across the United States.
