The Blade, published since 1835, is a broadsheet, general interest, daily newspaper that covers regional, national and international news. It is Toledo's only morning newspaper and the primary newspaper of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The paper prefers faxes be sent to the newsroom. Coverage includes news, sports, business, arts, features, science, technology and religion. The daily top stories and news sections feature mostly regional and national news items including politics and healthcare. The paper receives breaking news via the Associated Press newswire. The daily sports section features local news about college and professional sports as well as national sports and scores. The business section features general business news and trends as well regional industry coverage. The Arts & Features section offers coverage of local events, movie reviews, food stories, recipes, restaurant reviews, music reviews and book reviews. The religion section appears on Saturday and features local news, national trends and opinion columns. Media Alert: September 14, 2009 The Blade has launched a quarterly magazine for business and community leaders called Toledo BIZinsider. The first edition was mailed last week to leaders in metro Toledo and copies will be distributed at various business offices. The publication will have stories about local businesses and the issues they face each day, on finances, personnel, and other matters. It will contain stories that are different from those in The Blade, but the local stories and columns will be available upon publication on toledoblade.com.
