Florence of Arabia is a blog with in the Blogger's own words: "Musings on Muslims, Media and the Middle East".Zahra Hankir is the Author of the blog - in terms of her heritage, Zahra states: "I’m Lebanese, dotted with some Syrian, Palestinian and Egyptian. I was born in Belfast during the Lebanese civil war. Yes — my father decided to move from one sectarian conflict to another." She has a BA in politics from the American University of Beirut, she went on to get an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Manchester before "ditching academia" and moving to New York briefly, where she earned an MS in newspaper journalism from the Columbia School of Journalism.Sections on her blog include: Film; ISIS; Islamophobe of the Week; Letters to Florence; Media; Middle East; Muslims; Refugees and Satire.
