About
Bio
Background & Format: Launched in August 2010, Writeright is an individual blog that is about "professional editing, mentoring and tutoring authors". Many posts are about the editing process behind novels with Anne blogging about whatever is of interest to her. Many posts are updates about her novel which are written in a first person style and may include photographs. Others consist of announcements of gala openings of visual artists, makers, writers, dancers and actors. She also writes about the process of approaching publishers.
The Blogger:
Writeright is written by Anne Hamilton who started the blog while working as Editor of Lothian Life as well as a writer of short story fiction and novels. "Having worked with a number of writers - beginners and the more experienced - who have simply wanted a ‘helping hand’ with their novels or stories, I began to realise I really enjoyed the work and was good at it!"
PR Opportunities:
PR opportunities are limited in that the blog exists to provide specialist advice and services for fiction writers. For any enquiries, Anne can be reached at info@writerightediting.co.uk

The New Republic
Established in 1914 and geared toward individuals involved in the legislative process at federal, state, local and grass root levels. Designed to cover public affairs from an insider's vantage point. Provides readers with a rigorous examination of American politics, foreign policy and culture. Includes news and editorials on domestic and international issues. Features current events, politics, education, books, theater, film, music, art and culture. If you are pitching an idea for an essay, reportage, or other nonfiction, briefly explain your angle, why it’s timely, and why you’re equipped to write it; generously hyperlink any references and citations in your pitch, so the editor can easily vet it. If you are sending a completed submission, briefly summarize it in your email and either embed or attach your full article. In all cases, include a brief biography and links to examples of your work. The staff will not respond to a pitch that is sent to multiple editors, so it is encouraged to determine where your piece best fits—within the online verticals or within the pages of the magazine—and limit your email to one editor. This outlet offers RSS (Really Simple Syndication).
