The London Foodie is a blog that carries reviews of London’s “best value, good quality restaurants and supper clubs, wine tastings and favourite recipes”. It is the sister site to London food and drink news site The London Foodie News. Launched in 2009, The London Foodie has been featured among Wikio’s top 20 London blogs. Blog posts are all written with the personal voice of the Blogger and are from personal experience. Some posts are more structured and these include recipes which contain lists of ingredients and cooking instructions. Other posts include restaurant reviews and give information about the general dining experience along with photographs of the food and the restaurant. At the end of each review there is information about the cost along with Luiz’s personal likes and dislikes and then a verdict. Sections on the site include: The London Foodie Supper Club; Restaurant Reviews; Delectable Travels; Supper Club Reviews; London Cooking Club; Recipes; Wine and Delicious Links.
Blogger Luiz Hara is of Italian-Japanese heritage and moved to London more than 20 years ago from Sao Paolo, Brazil. Luiz says that he is “passionate about good food and travelling to discover new dishes, flavours and cuisines”. Luiz formerly worked for an investment bank in the City of London but left in 2011 to become a culinary student at Le Cordon Bleu's Grand Diplome. He holds an Advanced Certificate from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and has written for several online and print publications. He currently runs the Japanese-themed London Foodie Supper Club and the cooking get-together London Cooking Club out of his home in Islington.
PR opportunities include brand name and product placement and reviews. Luiz says: I am happy to review product samples, wines, cookery books, restaurants and hotels by invitation but will make up my own mind on whether to recommend them or not. As a non-commercial site, my integrity comes first.” He adds: “With a busy day job, I may take a while to get back to you - I read all e-mails and will reply to each one of them, so please do not think you are being ignored if you have not heard from me for some time. I really appreciate receiving your feedback on what I write or your review suggestions, so please keep them coming.” Luiz can be reached by email at luizhara@hotmail.com or via the online contact form.
