Launched in 1960 as an all-purpose toolkit for general practice, Pulse is designed to keep GPs up to date with the latest practical information about their work. It is the UK’s leading medical monthly publication, counting more than 70 per cent of GPs among its regular readers, as well as other primary care professionals. The magazine offers comprehensive coverage of news affecting GPs and practice staff, from clinical advances to the latest political developments, with stories are regularly picked up by the national media.
The publication will also provide GPs with high quality clinical features written by experts in their field. These are designed to be practical and to keep GPs on top of the latest developments in clinical practice. Business content is equally focused on delivering practical advice to GPs on how to run their practice and to help with personal finance issues. Pulsetoday.co.uk contains all of this content and more, with extra features such as practical downloadable resources, NHS and non-NHS fees and an Ask the Expert service allowing users to get their questions answered.

Print readership is made up of GPs, with online content reaching a wider audience, including practice nurses, practice managers, hospital doctors and managers at primary care trusts.

The editorial deadline will vary, with the publication going to press towards the end of each month. Deadlines for each section run throughout the month. Content is added online first - press releases are best sent in as soon as possible. In addition, Pulse sends out a daily email to GPs, for which the deadline is 4pm the day before.
