Peer-reviewed medical journal established in 1975 and serves as the official publication of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP). Written for workers in anaesthesiology, anatomy, dentistry, general surgery, medicine, neurology, neuroscience, physiology, psychiatry and psychology. Publishes original research on the nature, mechanisms and treatment of pain. Provides a forum for the dissemination of research in the basic and clinical sciences of multidisciplinary interest.
Does not accept pitches. Accepts by-line submissions via email.
Types of Papers accepted:
Clinical/Basic Science Research Reports (for word limitations, see below).
Clinical Notes (brief reports on clinical cases).
e-Pain (clinical topics with photos, video, or audio content).
Letters to the Editor
Topical Reviews (articles that summarize recent findings and highlight issues in clinical and basic research related to pain).
