Löwenzahn is a Learning Programme for children, which has been shown since 1981. It mainly picks up environmental and children's topics as well as social issues. The approach is a very exploratory and playful one. For the length of the show, the young viewers follow the presenter's life - formerly Peter Lustig, who made the programme famous, and since 2006 Guido Hammesfahr. The presenter lives in as a caravan, which also functions a laboratory where, every now and then, the presenter engages the viewers in simple scientific experiments.

Die Herangehensweise an die Themen ist spielerisch, die Sendung enthält immer wieder Entdeckungsmomente. Für die Länge der Sendung ist der junge Zuschauer Teil im Leben der hauptfigur, dem Moderator - ursprünglich Peter Lustig, der das Programm populär gemacht hat, und seit 2006 Guido Hammesfahr. Der Moderator lebt in einem Wohnwagen, das ab und zu als Labor herhält, in dem er alltägliche Dinge mit kleinen Experimenten erklärt.
