First aired in 1995, Kentucky Life is a weekly magazine program featuring the heritage of Kentucky through profiles of people, places, and ideas. Topics that the show covers include animals, events, history and traditions, people, crafts, dance, music, visual arts, writers, athletes, collectors, performers, places, businesses, historic sites, museums, nature, recreation, plants, and sports. KET-TV Executive Director Virginia G. Fox says, "As Kentucky's only statewide broadcast medium, we are in a unique position to bring the state together. Kentucky Life can do that not only by airing the stories of its people, but by bringing stories produced in the far corners of the state to a wider audience." The show does not offer any opportunities for advertising, but does accept underwriting. Kentucky Life does not target a specific audience and is seen in about 24,000 households in Kentucky.
The show is owned by Kentucky Educational Television and affiliated with PBS.
