The Journal of Molecular Medicine aims to publish reports describing major advances in the understanding, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human disease through the application of molecular biology and gene technology.

The journal publishes reports describing major advances in the understanding, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human disease through the application of molecular biology and gene technology, a research discipline that has become known as molecular medicine. The journal publishes original papers and review articles of the highest quality pertinent to all aspects of human biology and pathophysiology. Covered areas include, but are not limited to: aging, angiogenesis, cancer biology and oncology, development and differentiation, endocrinology and metabolic disorders, gastrointestinal diseases and hepatology, genetics and epigenetics, hematology, hypoxia research, immunology, infectious diseases, neuroscience of diseases, -omics based research of diseases, systems medicine, regenerative medicine, stem cell research, vascular and cardiovascular biology.
