The Dogs Trust Blog is a commercial charity blog based in London, aimed at a UK audience. The blog is the official blog from the Dogs Trust charity, the UK's largest dog welfare charity. Through its network of 17 rehoming centres across the UK and Ireland, the charity cares for over 16,000 stray, unwanted and abandoned dogs each year. Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy, and will never put a healthy dog to sleep. Dogs Trust also offers neutering, microchipping and education programmes. The Dogs Trust was founded in 1891 and their mission is, "to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction."
The Dogs Trust Blog is written by staff members at the charity, but also by volunteers and features some guest blogging. The blog is used to announce any news or updates at the charity, but also to showcase the dogs that the charity works. It also runs regularly competitions that include book and event ticket giveaways. The blog also brings any news from fundraising events that are happening. It is also a place for the Dogs Trust to update its audience on any campaigns that the charity is currently working on.
Unfortunately the blog posts don't carry bylines and are posted under the 'Dogs Trust' alias, so it is recommended to just contact the press office. The blog features posts about all types of breeds, and mainly acts a place to highlight what dogs are available for rehoming. Along with rehoming updates, the blog is keen on providing rehoming success stories. Blog posts carry videos, images and are usually around 200-300 words long. The blog is updated a few times a month and gives information on rehoming and sponsoring a dog.
PR opportunities are not obvious, however they do exist. The best way to contact the team is on the email address provided above; alternatively they can be reached via telephone or post.
