Founded in 1848, Associated Press is an international news organization offering news, photos, graphics, audio and video for 1,700 newspapers and 5,000 radio and television outlets in the United States as well as newspaper, radio and television subscribers internationally. There are bureaus worldwide representing over one hundred countries. It features a massive digital photo network, a continuously updated online news service, a television news service and one of the largest radio networks in the United States. The AP's Web site tracks changes in the media and provides breaking news like its wire service. There are various departments covering a variety of news, including international news, national news, spot news from around the United States, regional coverage, Washington, business, technology, finance, health, science, arts, entertainment and sports. The Associated Press has received 48 Pulitzer Prizes, more than any other news organization in the categories for which it can compete. It has 29 photo Pulitzers, the most of any news organization. Daybook items for New York City should go to the alternate email. Tips: Do not send attachments in emails. If the story is of regional significance, send to a local AP bureau. The AP has a bureau in every state. To send press releases to specific departments, consult the list of beats, AP editors and writers, and the release will be forwarded to the appropriate party. United Stations Radio Network
Radio network providing a variety of personality-driven, caller-intensive talk radio programming all delivered to affiliates via satellite. The network provides a variety of music, comedy and information shows and services delivered to affiliates via CD, satellite and the Internet. United Stations grew into one of the largest suppliers of long-form music programming in the country. In 1985, United Stations acquired the RKO Radio Networks and was renamed the United Stations Radio Networks. The company now supplied news and sports, as well as music programming, to America's radio stations. In 1989, United Stations merged with Transtar Radio Networks to form Unistar Communications Group. Unistar was sold to Westwood One in 1993. One year later, founders Nick Verbitsky and Dick Clark recreated United Stations Radio Networks. The outlet offers RSS (Really Simple Syndication).
