TTameside Correspondent
Background and Format: The Stalybridge Correspondent, set up in 2017, is a free monthly newspaper for residents of Stalybridge and surrounding areas. It covers regional news, sports, lifestyle, entertainment, business, and youth topics. The paper is hand-delivered to more than 50 locations across the area, pubs, restaurants, cafes and the like, ready for readers to pick it up. The newspaper is published on the last Friday of each month except in December. There is no issue in December, but there are two issues in January, on the first and last Friday of the month. Articles and ads should be submitted by the 14th of the month. The paper has three sister publications: The Saddleworth Independent, The Mossley Correspondent, and The Shaw and Crompton Correspondent. The same team works on all of these publications. Top Tips for PRs: News stories can be sent here through the contact form. National and international news provided by Sky News is broadcast every hour. Tameside Radio broadcast a local news service for all of it's Monday to Friday 'daytime' programmes at the top of each hour between 0700 and 1800 after the Sky News bulletin. A shortened bulletin from Sky is broadcast Mon-Fri at 0730, 0830, 0930, 1030 and 1530, 1630, 1730, 1830. In addition to top of hour and half-past bulletins Monday-Friday, we also broadcast travel updates every 20 minutes between 0700-1000 and 1500-1800. We also broadcast local current affairs-centric shows on Thursday evenings in the form of the 'What's On' (local events being held during the upcoming week) and 'Reporter' (a look back at news over the week) shows. Friday evenings see a look at the local sporting scene, with Saturday seeing a local football league results and discussion show being broadcast from 3pm.

On average they broadcast ~14 hours of live programming Monday to Thursday, 18 on Fridays, and 13 at weekend. All of their programming is locally produced in the studios in Ashton town centre, with the exception of outside broadcasts. Which are predominantly held at weekend during 'Your Tameside', where they take to the road to showcase local charity fundays or events.
