WBKO-TV is the local ABC affiliate in Bowling Green, Kentucky, serving south central Kentucky. In 1976, WBKO-TV was sold to a group of local investors and in 1983, it was again sold to A. Richard Benedek, who, today, is the sole owner of one of the country's largest group of individual television stations. Operating as Benedek Broadcasting Corporation, the company owns 22 small and medium market stations scattered across the United States. In December, 1985, the need for additional space found WBKO-TV moving to its modern 17,000 square foot facility located at 2727 Russellville Road. This move made possible the delivery of network and syndicated programs via satellite. Local news airs weekdays from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 10:00 PM CT. On Saturday and Sunday, the news airs at 10:00 PM CT. All other programs are syndicated ABC shows. WBKO-TV urges PR professionals to contact the station at either 10:30 AM or 12:00 PM CT.
