Background and Format: SkinsMatter is www.foodsmatter.com sister site devoted to freefrom personal and skin care. Like foodsmatter.com, skinsmatter.com is an entirely independent informational website and allergy portal. Foods Matter was started 20 years ago as a magazine by Michelle Berriedale-Johnson, a food historian, food journalist and ex-caterer, whose small son was diagnosed with a dairy intolerance. At the beginning of 2010, the Foods Matter magazine ceased to exist - giving way to the foodsmatter.com site. The SkinsMatter site has several hundred articles and research reports on skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, carries regular new and tried and tested product reviews, and extensive directories of freefrom skincare product manufacturers. Background & Format: Launched in January 2019, Skint Chef is a group developing blog about "Recipes and resources for the budget conscious home chef." Skint Chef was listed in the Foodies 100 UK Food Blogs. The blog provides a mixture of cooking content with the bloggers blogging about what is of interest. Many posts are about where to buy food at a bargain at supermarkets, which are written in an advisory style and may include photographs. Others consist of recipes, news of recall products and budget meal plans. They also do announcements of supermarket prizes and resources on how to save money. The Bloggers: Skint Chef is written by a team of bloggers, Stuart Hayes, Naomi Willis and Ricky Willis. The Willis' started the blog alongside their other blog, SkintDad. "When trying to find new things to eat in the past, Google has pretty much been our go-to place to for recipes and inspiration.Trouble is, the recipes that popped up – while they sounded delicious – were full of random ingredients we never have in the cupboard and we weren’t willing to go out and get them as a one-off."
