Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations Blog
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is the national body for Scotland’s charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. The site hosts a blog which carries news, information and comment on matters that would be of interest to people that follow or work in these areas. Bloggers are written by SCVO staff. John Downie heads Policy Affairs. The staff work on different areas such as policy and research, rural development, rural policy and supporting voluntary action among others and people from each department write posts relevant to their area. The blog also invites guest bloggers such as people from the third sector and wider civic society. Blog posts cover news and current affairs that are related to third sector organisations and mostly take the form of comment and opinion. Posts discuss political matters that are related to and could influence charity and voluntary organisations and are all relevant for Scotland. PR opportunities lie within news, comment and opinion. The team can be reached by email and telephone. Please note that the blog is specific to third sector organisations in Scotland.
