Radio Disney, created by ABC Radio Networks, was launched in 1996. Radio Disney targets children, ages 2 to 11, with 24-hour interactive daily programming. Music screened for wholesomeness accounts for 90 percent of the programming, including pop, oldies, kids' songs, and television and movie soundtracks. Radio Disney broadcasts to stations nationwide. Half of the Radio Disney stations are owned by the company and half are network affiliates.
