WXPN has celebrated the accomplishments of the LGBTQ communities, especially in regards to music, with its public affairs programming. What started as Sunshine Gaydreams in 1974, morphed to Gaydreams then to Q’zine: a queer arts and culture magazine in 1996. Most recently, the program – now titled OUTsounds – has fine-tuned its mission to celebrate out musicians worldwide. Robert Drake has hosted this program since 1996.
