Oxfam News Blog
Oxfam News Blog is the official blog for Oxfam in the UK. Based in Oxfordshire, this mainstream blog has contributions from a variety of different writers. The blog provides news about the Oxfam organisation, however it does cover a matter of different subjects. Some of the content is light-hearted about entertainment or celebrities, but as expected a lot of the material is particularly testing. Due to the nature of the Oxfam charity, much of the content is about political issues that are troubling countries across the world. The blog's editorial content is provided by people working on specific campaigns but a lot of the articles are provided by Oxfam staff, specifically the Oxfam Communications team. It is also worth noting that along with Oxfam News Blog there are other blogs that appear on the Oxfam blog section. They include personal blogs, more campaign blogs from staff that work for Oxfam and a very active Fashion blog. These are all accessible on the blog directory page which the Oxfam News Blog sits on. The blog provides many personal stories from the lives of people affected by famine, poverty and other natural disasters. Other subjects that the blog covers include fair-trade, environmental problems, human rights and more. The blog also features a lot of arts, media and entertainment content especially anything to do with World Book Day, International Women's Day or the Nobel Peace Prize. So despite the content being Oxfam orientated there is some content that covers topics outside of the Oxfam remit. The Oxfam News Blog carries a lot of content that includes photos and videos, which are directly fed from the company's Flickr and YouTube accounts. Many of the posts are success stories from Oxfam campaigns, but from people across the world. The blog also runs a number of competitions, including a Photo competition. PR opportunities are not obvious due to the blog's self-promotion and nature of the Charity sector. However, if you do discover an opportunity the best way to contact the blog is on the telephone number or email address provided above. Alternatively there is a contact form and they are very active on various social media platforms. Instagram: instagram.com/oxfamgb Pinterest: uk.pinterest.com/oxfamgb
