Its regular content is focused on the work that Karen does within the beauty industry. Karen is a permanent make-up technician and is based in the UK. She also has a training school and her TV appearances have earned her a growing list of celebrity clients. As well as beauty product reviews, Karen also works with the "Caroline's Campaign" foundation that helps to transform women who are living with breast cancer. The eight brands that Nouveau boasts include Lets Go Lashes, LVL Lashes, Nouveau Lashes, HD Brows, Nouveau Contour, Fresh Minerals, A-Lift and Contour Roller. As expected from a beauty blog the content centres on eyelashes, eyebrows, makeup, cosmetics and more. On average the blog is updated two or three times a week and posts fall under the Nouveau Admin guise, although the majority of content is provided by Karen Betts. The program is watched by eight million people each week. NOVA films are also broadcast in 52 other countries. Major funding for NOVA is provided by The Park Foundation, Northwestern Mutual Life Foundation, and CNET.com. Nova first aired in 1974. The show does not have a host. Lead times are between six months and two years. The producers prefer not to be inundated with breaking news, as the lead times are so long. According to the show's senior publicist, the show does not take press releases "at all." They prefer to only receive story ideas. The producers are interested in receiving books for review, with a science-based story. Advertising is not sold for NOVA.
