HERRING & HERRING is the collaboration between renowned international photographers/directors Dimitri Scheblanov and Jesper Carlsen. The Herscher Pilot was established by Herscher Publishing Co. in July of 1976 as America was celebrating its Bicentennial. From July 1, 1979 to April 12, 2016 the newspaper had been owned and operated by Robert A. Mau. Since April of 2016, it has been owned and operated by Janet Mau. Published every Thursday, the Pilot features general news, sports, opinion, photos and advertising for a region of approximately 250 square miles commonly known as Kankakee County West.
