Background and Format: Launched in March 2010, Frontline Gastroenterology (FG) aims to accelerate the adoption of best practice in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology. It is multidisciplinary and focuses on the needs of patients and the professionals caring for them. The principal criterion for publication is potential impact on patient care. FG welcomes articles that address issues from the point an individual thinks they may have a gastroenterological problem, to care in tertiary settings. More specifically, FG publishes articles in the domains of  clinical quality, patient experience, service provision and medical education. He has had a distinguished career in research and chairs the Neurogastroenterology and Motility Section of the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG).
