FlashPoint - KFOR-TV
Flashpoint is a weekly, half-hour political show airing on KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City, OK. The show airs Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Hosted and moderated by Kevin Ogle, the show features former Republican gubernatorial candidate Burns Hargis and former State Democratic Party Chairman Mike Turpen, who offer their political views on timely topics. The show operates in debate format and according to the station's Web site, is meant to be "lively, entertaining, and informative." The only political show in Oklahoma City, it highlights breaking news and current issues. Past guests on the show include George W. Bush, Tim Russert, Pat Buchanan, and Tipper Gore, among others. The show has received awards for political reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters. The target audience is viewers in the Oklahoma City area interested in politics. The cost for a 30-second advertising spot in the first quarter averages at $75. For the second quarter, the average is $100. The third quarter average is $110, and the fourth quarter average is $125.
