CCrediton Gazette - Mid Devon Gazette Series
Background and Format: The first issue of the Tiverton Gazette and East Devon Herald (as it was known then) was published April 27, 1858. Today the papers cover 1,000 square miles, mostly in Mid Devon but also some North Devon and West Somerset. From 1872 there were three editions: Tiverton Gazette, Crediton Gazette and South Molton Gazette. By the mid-nineties the paper was merged into one edition - the Mid Devon Gazette. However they later split again to Town and Rural editions until they were re-launched in 2001 as the Tiverton Gazette, Crediton Gazette and the Culm Valley Gazette.
