CCaught by the RiverUnited Kingdom
Background and Format:Caught By The River began in summer 2007 as a website based solely on a handful of passions shared by the people behind it. Angling, music, books, films, nature and pubs to name a few. In the time since the first posting, after two summers at the Port Eliot Festival and several packed out Caught By The River Social Club events, the nature of the site has changed somewhat. The site’s growth has been a constant surprise to us. Finding new contributors who have brought with them a different discipline we’d previously had little or no knowledge of has seen it spiral off into uncharted territory. Now it encompasses everything from watching birds and urban rambling to poetry, art and gardening. That’s what has been the most interesting aspect of developing Caught By The River – the exchange of knowledge, the opening of doors, the making of friends – how it has somehow carved itself a unique place on the web and judging by the feedback, a place in your bookmarks.
